@LovnBri & DCO Branding have partnered to bring you four-post dedicated to self-care and mental health in the month of April.
Everyone is talking about what they are doing to better themselves. For the past two months, we’ve spent more time alone than usual. As a result, many people are being confronted head-on with who they really are and how they find fulfillment. With the scales removed from our eyes, we are looking for ways to better ourselves and to evolve spiritually and emotionally.
There’s no right or wrong way to go about this. Some may find journaling useful while others prefer sitting down with a therapist. Some find opportunities for growth through expression, like art, or by methodically setting goals and action plans. I believe that there is a method for everyone’s preference. Does the real question become, "how we measure our growth?" What signs should someone look for that clue them into reaching their emotional and mental goals?
Let’s uncover a few:
Are you self-aware?
Conscious knowledge of one's own feelings, beliefs, and goals increases as we become more acquainted with ourselves. As we evolve, we are more likely to recognize and acknowledge our internal dialogue.
Are you managing your time better?
With evolution comes prioritizing our needs and best interests. Are you spending more time doing things that will advance your goals or wasting time and energy?
Are you keeping your mental space clear?
A clear mental space or a less cluttered mental space also clues us in. When we spend less time being worried, anxious, or feeding into negative self-talk we know we are headed in the right direction. Notice there are no absolutes. Evolution is a journey, not a destination. Be kind to yourself and acknowledge growth no matter how small. Keep evolving!
